Prijsvraag Een tweede leven

Nederland is druk bewoond en bebouwt, kortom er is genoeg leven in Nederland, zowel oud en nieuw. Althans voor de mens, maar voor dieren en de natuur is dit anders. Waar de stad zich uitbreidt, slinkt ons platteland. Het groen verdwijnt onder of tussen het stedelijk gebied. Doormiddel van “Een tweede leven” te geven aan het landschap, in dit geval het “Graafstroom” ten oosten van Rotterdam zullen nieuwe mogelijkheden getoond worden zowel voor de mens als de natuur.

In plaats van op het land te bouwen wordt er nu in het land gebouwd en zelfs onder. Door woningen in een heuvel van aarde te plaatsen blijft het uitzicht breed en overzichtelijk. Dit is rondom een stad een goede manier van bebouwing zonder dat steden aan elkaar groeien.

Psychisch zorgt dit voor meer vrijheidsgevoel. We kunnen en heel eind weg kijken waardoor een gevoel van vrijheid ontstaat. Ook zal daardoor geen verfrommeling op de horizon zijn. Natuur zorgt voor rust, water kalmeert en zeker in deze 24uur economie hebben we hier behoefte aan.

Ook onze infrastructuur kan vernieuwing gebruiken. We zijn steeds meer onderweg en hebben behoefte aan verschillende manieren om te reizen en daarom ook verschillende wegen. Dit alles kan doormiddel van een andere manier van straten/wijken of steden bouwen. Voor de korte afstanden kan men te voet of op de fiets. Wanneer de afstand groter is dan een kilometer kan je ook de boot pakken maar voor de echte grote afstanden is er de ondergrondse metro. En wanneer je de auto wil pakken kan je via een tunnel uit de aorta door het landschap rijden.

Je kunt dit concept zien als een soort ader van verkeer en leven. Natuurlijk kan deze vertakken in andere wijken/straten. In plaats van bouwen aan een netwerk van wegen en straten wordt de weg zelf de wijk. Deze wijk/ader is ingepakt door de aarde en zorgt niet alleen voor een groene omgeving maar ook voor isolatie en bescherming. Deze duurzame manier van bouwen geeft het landschap een tweede leven en zorgt dat het blijft bestaan. Het is dan wel een gecreëerd natuurlijk gebied maar van grote waarde wanneer het gaat om het leven op zich.

Stichting Meidendag is een organisatie die zich inzet om de techniek onder jongeren te promoten. Meer dames interesseren voor de techniek is ons hoofddoel, maar ook jongens hebben recht op goede voorlichting dus ook zij komen aan bod!

Stichting Meidendag promoot de techniek op verschillende manieren, waaronder Meidendagen voor dames die interesse hebben in de techniek, workshops in het voortgezet onderwijs, maar ook andere activiteiten en werkzaamheden om de techniek in een positief daglicht te plaatsen.

10.000 jaar geleden waren we afhankelijk van wat de natuur ons bracht. De natuur die ons in leven hield, onze voedingsbodem. Een manier van leven zoals we nu nog bij nomadenstammen aantreffen. Intussen hebben we geleerd de natuur naar onze hand te zetten. Sindsdien ontstaan er dorpen en steden en verstedelijkt ons gebied meer en meer. In het verlengde daarvan is de massaproductie ontstaan. We worden steeds specialistischer en hebben een onomkeerbaar economisch web gecreëerd. Niet overleven maar onze manier van leven is het middelpunt geworden. In mijn agrarisch centrum staat het eten uit eigen tuin centraal. Onze voedselketen is tegenwoordig zo lang dat we niet langer de herkomst van ons voedsel kennen en geen idee hebben welke bewerkingen het heeft ondergaan. Loze kreten op verpakkingen wekken valse suggesties. We denken al gauw dat iets gezond is maar schijn bedriegt. Verse groente is erg belangrijk voor het menselijke lichaam. Het is een van de pijlers waar ons lichaam op bouwt. Micheal Pollan - een zgn. groente-goeroe- heeft hier veel over gepubliceerd.

Het centrum wordt bewoond door 8 jongeren met een laag zelfbeeld, die werken aan hun zelfbewustzijn. Deze jongeren komen in het winterseizoen. Het restaurant/ de kookstudio gaat pas van start in het groeiseizoen zodat de jongeren tijd hebben om te wennen en de tuin te leren begrijpen. Doordat bezoekers zelf groenten plukken en daarna zelf de maaltijd bereiden, ontstaat een ervaring. Deze ervaring maakt ze bewust van het leven dichter bij de natuur. Bij binnenkomst krijgt de bezoeker een bolderkar mee en kan hij of zij als een moderne nomade door tuin en gebouw trekken. Vervolgens wordt deze kar gebruikt als winkelmandje in de groentetuin. De bolderkar kan ook omgebouwd worden tot zitobject; even uitrusten na het plukken, wassen en koken... Het casco -de kern- van het gebouw bestaat uit robuuste en zakelijke materialen. Als tweede laag wordt het gebouw 'begroeid' met gekleurde natuurlijker materialen zoals vilt. Dit symboliseert de natuur en verwijst tevens naar de nomaden die ook veel gebruiken maakten van vilt. Mijn ontwerp -het gebouw- functioneert als een cyclus van samenwerking, kennis en ervaring. Net zoals dat in een permacultuur plaatsvindt. Het doel van permacultuur is samenwerking tussen de mens en haar omliggende natuur, gericht op een lange termijn overleving van beide.

Een plek voor ontmoeting. Na een scriptie te hebben geschreven over de samenleving waar onze behoeften aan privé en openbaar in uitgelegd wordt is er een zitobject ontstaan waar individuele plekken als een geheel zijn gekoppeld. Doordat de zit objecten gevuld zijn met lucht ontstaat er een lucht verplaatsing zodra deze gebruikt wordt. Alle airseats zijn aan elkaar gekoppeld en vormen zo een gekoppeld geheel. Daarnaast zit binnen deze grote airseet zitten kleine airseats die niet gekoppeld zijn aan het geheel.

My graduation project goes about the effect of an meeting with a unknown person. We are all individuals but also a part of a bigger civilisation. We like to watch to each other but don't want to get forced to talk to eachother. We are standing in a metro or bus, just to avoid eye contact. But sometimes we want to make a contact. Just take a look at flashmobs. My graduation project is a object to sit on, and je slowly will notice te other person when he would sit somewhere near you.

In the last tower you will find the work of Pedro Marzorati. He does make collages. www.pedromarzorati.com His tower is made from different layers like a collage.

In every tower exposes an different artist. Every tower has his own character. Like the wooden tower has an artist who likes history, that’s why it looks like a skeleton. The second tower is made of steel. Inside there are black and white photographs they emphasis the soul. Inside the tower made of brick you will find poems. The tower does look like our brain a network of passages. The last tower is made of concrete for an artist who makes collages. That is why the tower is made of layers.

The four towers are located at an old haven. I would like to use this old haven as a theme for my towers. You should get the feeling that something happened there. It would be nice if you feel some emotion.

A building is like a skin of a human. They are all different. That is what makes them unique. I find it fascinated what makes us the way we are. How our brain reacts on our senses.

Threw making the four towers into four silhouettes it brings the towers more alive. They are also more related to the visitors this way.

This store is different. For this assignment I wanted to emphasise the feeling of a good aim. Like PUMA is a supporter of United for Africa. And that is what I wanted to use as an inspiration. Also the clothing is different, it is eco-designd. If you walk into the store you should feel the difference. The impact of the store should stimulate your senses. To create this impact I create a dark place whit coloured details. The coloured details are the clothes and you foot path. I like it pure. The capricious of the shop emphasises the environment of good will.

This is the way to shop sportive.

The pyramid Cheops is the most well known pyramid of egypt. Nobody know how it is build. Some people say it is build by aliens.. Other people are certain that the pyramid has al kind of signals in it about our future. Like curves, stairs and the distance between things. There are also people who are saying that a pyramid has a healing power. One thing is certain, a pyramid is incredible.

I get inspired by the storys I read. So for this assigment I would like to use the shape of a pyramid. It is really a difficult task because a pyramid is a dominant thing. It has a strong look. The assigment wass to make a culural bar in a park. A pyramid could be a cultural bar but I would like to do it different.

The building has a kind of strengt what I would like to use. But has to be more open and lighter. So I would like to use some glass. Around the building there is watter. Under the watter you will find the art gallery. You can see the luster of the water above you. If you would like a drink or something to eat you can lay down on a sofa and order a meal or drink. The roof of the cultural bar is made of glass and sun-power panels.

There is also a podium built in the park for theatre and music.

The bottom of the pond is made from glass and beyond this pond you will find an art gallery. By using glass on the bottom of the pond you will get an fascinating light play threw the moving water.

The entry of a playground is the beginning of pleasure. At the counter you can buy yourself a ticket. It is the beginning of a tense day. This counter accompanies you to the playground. The path runs in an arc, you cannot see where you walk up to. You are conducted by light.

A hous/boat on the water. From the bathroom have you view on water. If you take a bath you can see the ducks swiming in the lake. The kitchen has been immediately linked to the living room. There is also a workplace and still a sleep chamber with a sleep plattue above. If you go up you will find the head sleep chamber. From this chamber you can go the roof terrace. Where you can enjoy the view.

I did combain different curves with each other. The boat does look like a curved wave. On both sides the curve lays over the water, this creates a strong image of the boat.

Inside you will find a rotating stair next to the entry. You can choose if you go up to the bedroom or down to the living room.

The outside walls do have layers. First you have the wall. On top of the wall you will find a wooden layer and a layer of steel. I have done that because it gives the boat more dept. Otherwise it would be to flat. The boat doesn’t look closed because of the different materials and also threw the windows, which are placed everywhere. Beyond the layer you can put some lights to create a great view at nights.

A Bridge

There lies in the middle of in the park a lake, enclosed by trees. As from the rampart this bridge runs to the middle of the water. You can enjoy the park from another side as normal. You can sit with your legs in the water. And there is also a possibility to fish.

This bridge is high and impressive. You feel small but stored by the gateways that gives from time to time protective covering over you. This bridge does not bring you to the other side but shows you the otherside of a lake.

The task was to build a little house of skeleton construction for a person who would like to observe birds from there. This house has been built in a staircase form. A part of it lies in the water (the lowest part) the middle of the building is the living area and also sleep area.

My first task in architecture. The intention was that you would devise a house from a style. I knew which form I wanted use but no idea at which style I had to place this. Eventually I have thrown it on the high tech. . In fact you should see it as levels in one large space.

The house had to become a double house. What you can see you in the construction drawing above. It is litterally reflected, because then you create a beautiful square for the house where cars can park. It is a house which must stand certainly in nature. When you come from your busy hectic job to home you should feel home and free.

The house stands for one meter into the water, for this reason there is a verenda where you can enjoy the surroundings. There is a possibility to open the windows partly. There is organic overflowing overloop between the roof to the partition, this exists from several glass plates which sit with a construction to each other. Kindest I liked the complete wall done this way but it was able to do this. Because of the issolation and wind/water. The was no possibility to form glass in two ways (organic) yet, unfortunately. But the future goes rapidly, and people want more therefore who knows what the future brings..
